Guaranteed authentic: A WW2 Type 95 Japanese army NCO's sword, Kokura arsenal stamp. Matching serial numbers 31123. The early serial number shows this sword saw service throughout WW2. The matching serial numbers indicate the sword was taken off the Japanese soldier, not an end of war mass surrender item (swords and scabbards were frequently separated and ended up being "married" to another sword / scabbard.

The 26 3/8 inch nagasa (cutting edge section) blade is in very good condition, a few small patina streaks, nothing much, and firm in the hilt. The aluminium hilt / tsuka has good amounts of its original copper coloured paint and is in very good shape. The saya / scabbard has quite a bit of its original war time browning and kink one side but is overall very good for its age; the locking system works well. The sword sheathes and draws very well, and the locking mechanism works very well.

A great early war example at a low price; yours for £900. Please quote item reference S72. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 0690-1m (2.347).
