The 29 3/4 inch blade has some pitting and has been heavily cleaned. Blade firm in hilt. The hilt retaining some gilt and in good condition. The grip is quite good, some wear patches, and has been post extra whitened. The grip wires all seem good. The leather and metal fittings scabbard has age; several weak areas, stitching to back coming undone. The sword sheathes and draws a little stickily; the locating / securing pin / folding guard section works well. The all weather cover is aged and the hood section has come adrift.

Not often you can but a British Victorian naval officer's sword with all weather cover for just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Q36 (0338). Further / full sized images available upon request.
