Late Victorian 1892P British Infantry Officer's
In very good condition, a scarce 1892 Pattern British infantry
A scarce 1892P and in very good condition. Etched to make / retailer
"Pearse & Co Hart St. Covent Garden, W.C. (London)"
and with original owner's initials "A S" (caveat, there
is an intertwined swirl above "A S" which could be a "C",
thus "A C S").
The 32 15/16 inch blade is in very good condition, the superb grey
etching is still clear, minimal patina spots and firm in the hilt.
The gilt on brass hilt is very good with no visible damage. The
black fishskin grip and associated twisted grip wire bindings are
both very good. The polished steel scabbard is in very good condition.
The original sword knot is very good for its age. The sword sheathes
and draws a little loosely.
A scarce pattern of sword in well above average example. An investment,
for sure, at £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference
