WW2 Japanese Heiho Cutlass (Converted Dutch
1911M Klewang), for sale |
In good condition, a WW2 Japanese Heiho Cutlass (Converted Dutch
1911M Klewang). Now with 20% discount.
A Dutch 1911 model "Klewang" cutlass by Hembrug, cut
down by the Japanese in WW2 to use as a machete. These swords were
often issued to local Indonesian vigilantes to hunt down any remaining
KNIL (Dutch) forces and unfortunate Dutch civilians.
The 17 7/8 inch blade is in aged but overall good and sound condition,
and firm in the hilt. The hilt having lost one recessed grip stud
is in well worn but good condition. The original Dutch leather scabbard
and frog with belt loop is aged and worn but good; still has its
original Dutch weapon number "P1214" brass plate. The
cutlass sheathes and draws well.
A nice, evocative (clearly seen a service life) example. Its yours
for (was) £400, now £320. Please quote item reference
P57. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 0241-0.82
(1.29).
