French 1896 Model Cavalry Trooper's Sword, Sold

In good condition, and aged but unmarked French 1896M cavalry trooper's sword.

Unmarked, so probably an export or late WW1 sword.

The unmarked 35 3/8 inch blade is in good condition; there is a little movement in the hilt, not much. The brass guard has dents, etc but is sound. The hardwood grip is overall in good condition but with a small section missing under the pommel. The twisted grip wires are generally good. The steel scabbard is mostly good, some dents. The sword sheathes and draws well.
