Marked to cutler Hobson on the ricasso, the black fishskin grip for a junior officer makes this a much scarcer sword than the white fishskin grip normal officers swords.

The 30 1/8 inch blade is in overall good order, the etching still quite clear, but with patina and even rust patches here and there. The blade is firm in the hilt. The hilt aged but overall good. The black fishskin grip is in good shape but the twisted grip wire bindings have lost quite a few strands. The scabbard leather is aged and split down the seam bit overall sound. The sword sheathes and draws well

A very reasonably priced fair example; yours for £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference P04 (0194). Further / full sized images available upon request.
