1950's United States Navy Officer's Sword, Sold

In very good condition, a German made 1950's USN officer's sword, etched to Lieutenant commander Robert J. Young.

Lieutenant commander Robert J. Young graduated the US Naval War College in 1954 and saw service with the USN in the Mediterranean.

The superb 30 3/4 inch blade is in very good, well etched, bears the retailer's details "Conqueror Trade Mark (Made in Germany)" and is in near mint condition, plus firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard also very good, as is the grip. The original sword knot / portapee in good shape with some fraying. The leather and metal fittings scabbard is generally good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
