Fine 18C Persian Shamshir Watered Damascus Blade, sold

A fine circa 1750 Persian Shamshir with excellent watered Damascus blade, signed and dated.

We believe the date is for (Western calendar) 1753, but are not 100%; it is mid 18th Century though for sure. The blade has an exceptional watered Damascus pattern to it. This is a very fine Persian Shamshir indeed.

The 33 1/2 inch very curved blade is in great condition for its age, with the maker / date inscription and Bedouh talisman still very clear, as is the superb watered damascened pattern (a little more pronounced one side than the other). Blade firm in hilt. The hilt and wooden grip with wear and age.
