WW2 Japanese Army / Kempei (Military Police) NCO's Sword, sold

In very good condition, a WW2 Japanese Army / Kempei (Military Police) NCO's Sword.

The blade period sharpened. It is our understanding that many of these also came from Japanese POW camp NCO's, as well as Japanese military police and some regular Imperial army NCO's. The type 32 as it is also known, is often described as a cavalry sabre, but cavalry type 32's had longer blades.

30 1/4 inch blade in very good condition, serial number 125116, firm in the hilt. The hilt also very good. The saya with serial number 90009 to the chape in slightly aged condition. The sword sheathes well enough; it needs a final push / twist to locate the locking pin into the saya recess.
