Sold Item Notice

Yes it is old. Yes it is well worn. But go an find another if you can, it is that rare. An 1800's Georgian British infantry general's sword, differentiated from the 1796P heavy cavalry officer's dress sword by the "pas-de-ane" rings between the boat shell guard and quillon.

The 33 inch blade is covered in patina, has some rust pitting, especially around the point section, the point slightly rounded, but clearly the original length. The blade is firm in the hilt, the bloat shell guard is good, as is the hilt generally. The twisted wire grip is complete and appears sound.

Rare, rare, rare. Further / full sized images available upon request. Please quote item reference E37 (803)
