WW2 British Inniskilling Fusiliers Officers Wilkinson Sword, For Sale

In aged and embattled condition, the WW2 British Expeditionary Force / Inniskilling Fusiliers Officers Wilkinson Sword of then Lieutenant A S Cundy-Cooper.

Serial number 67093 for 26th March 1938, the Wilkinson ledger confirms this to be the sword of A S Cundy-Cooper, Inniskilling Fusiliers, who took this sword as part of the British Expeditionary Force on the 16th September 1939.



The 32 1/4 inch blade is well aged with patina and even some rust at the point (the very point is gone). Blade firm in hilt. The hilt with age and rust spots. The original leather grip is good but has lost its grip wire. The leather field scabbard has age and has lost its frog suspension strap but is quite good. The sword sheathes and draws well.

Lieutenant A S Cund-Cooper was promoted to Captain and finally made Major. He died on the 31st December 1972. 2nd Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers disembarking at Cherbourg from the steamer 'Royal Sovereign', 16th September 1939.
