French AN XI Model Infantry / Artillery Briquet, 1819 to 1822, Sold

In good condition, a French AN XI Model Infantry / Artillery Briquet, markings for 1819 to 1822.

In very good overall condition, the inscription to the spine has been rubbed out but the poinçons are for Boutet of Versailles and Jean Joseph Cécile Bureau (inspector from 6th February 1819 to 1st March 1822 - see here).

The 23 1/8 inch blade is in good condition, as is the sword generally; all firm. The scabbard is aged but the sword sheathes and draws well. The number "82" is stamped to the front of the cross guard.
