In good condition, a Russo-Japanese War Army Officer's Kuy Gunto.
A Japanese army officer's parade (kuy gunto) sword from the Russo-Japanese
War period.
The 25 1/2 inch cutting edge (Nagasa) blade with clear etched hamon
and cat scratch habaki are in very good condition and firm in the
hilt. The hilt good, the folding guard section works OK, The fishskin
grip and associated twisted grip wire bindings in very good condition.
The (possibly faux) rayskin saya with gilt metal fittings is good.
The sword sheathes and draws tightly.
Not a traditionally forged blade but hey, a very good sword and
in great condition. Yours for £? (too late, now sold - original
