African Congo Ngombe / Doko execution sword, sold

A grim if not interesting African executioner's sword, probably 19C / early 20C in good condition.

An unusual and evocative sword for sending a condemned man or woman to the next life. Blade is 18 1/2 inches long and has some nicks to the cutting edge. Generally aged / worn, ornately marked blade. I have seen them go for quite a bit more at auction, so a very good price. Full sized images available upon request. My item reference number is 966 (553).
