Sold Item Notice

This sword has several MOD, inspector, repair and inspection stamps, reflecting the fraught time when swords were failing and sound sword demand outstripped supply in the British Army; the first date on this sword is "86". Due to the length of the blade, this is actually the 1885 Pattern variant. The scabbard shows the original trooper to have served in the 20th Hussars and that it was later passed down to a yeomanry regiment.

The sword generally is in good condition with no movement or looseness anywhere. I would accept £350 for it. Further pictures available upon request. Item reference number 120 (Box66).
