WW1 British Infantry Officer's Sword

Sales enquiries

With a stamped "proved" mark and leather grip, this sword was almost certainly made during the second half of World War One, when aesthetics / detail was not so important.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good overall condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt with some bending damage, not much, possibly period. The leather grip good but with wear and a couple of scuffs; the twisted grip wire bindings are good. The leather scabbard has a lot of wear damage to the chape / drag, which indicates this sword was actually worn during the conflict / on the battlefield, and the leather generally is scuffed, etc. The sword sheathes and draws well.

Good honest example. A bargain at £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference P86 (0307). Further / full sized photos available upon request.
