WW1 British Infantry Officer's Sword, for
In overall good condition, a WW1 British Infantry Officer's Sword
With a stamped "proved" mark and leather grip, this sword
was almost certainly made during the second half of World War One,
when aesthetics / detail was not so important.
The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good overall condition and firm
in the hilt. The hilt with some bending damage, not much, possibly
period. The leather grip good but with wear and a couple of scuffs;
the twisted grip wire bindings are good. The leather scabbard has
a lot of wear damage to the chape / drag, which indicates this sword
was actually worn during the conflict / on the battlefield, and
the leather generally is scuffed, etc. The sword sheathes and draws
