WW2 / George VI Royal Navy Officer's Sword,
Bag, Belts, for sale
In very good condition, a WW2 / George VI Royal Navy officer's
sword, Bag, Belts, etc.
No maker's / cutler's / retailer's name etched to blade, plus has
a plain brass proof slug, so possibly if not probably late World
War 2 (or just after). Etched to King George VI (reigned 11 December
1936 – 6 February 1952).
The 31 1/4 Inch blade is very well etched and in excellent condition,
plus firm in the hilt. The hilt is also very good, as is the fishskin
grip (some of the lesser grip wires are a little astray, some diligent
home correction would probably work wonders). Sword knot with a
little age but good. The leather and gilt metal fittings scabbard
in good order (some loss of colour to to parts of the leather, some
liquid boot polish might well suit). Folding guard section works
well and locates properly onto top scabbard fitting pin. The all
weather bag is actually very good for age, but with some cracking
etc. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A well above average condition sword for only £650. Please
quote item reference number P28. Further / full sized pictures available
upon request. Box 0210-1m (2.329).
