In very good condition, a rare and super fine 19th Century Borneo
Dayak Mandau (head hunter's sword).
Probably the finest Dyak Mandau we have seen; enough said (this
statement and the photos say everything).
The heavy well engraved 23 3/4 inch blade is in very good condition
and no brass circles missing. Blade firm in carved tropical wood
hilt. The hilt with minor damage. The animal hair still plentiful
and good. The scabbard is split down the seams, but is otherwise
very good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
An exceptional museum quality piece. Yours for a paltry £1100
(no, really). Please quote item reference P20. Further / full sized
images upon request. Box 0209-1m (1.956).
