Sales enquiries

Rare to find an Irish attributed sword. The blade spine is marked to "JJ Runkel Solingen", the top scabbard fitting is engraved "Bradburn & Campbell, Arran Quay, Dublin".

The 32 5/8 inch blade is in overall good condition with the remains of the etching still clear. Blade firm in hilt. The hilt has lost much of its gilt but it overall good. The twisted silver metal wire grip is in good order, no looseness. The scabbard has lost its chape / drag, but is overall good, though aged, and has shrunk a little as happens (so there is a small gap between the top locket and hilt when full sheaved). The sword sheathes and draws well.

Nice example, nice price; £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference P15 (0203). Further / full sized images available upon request.
