1912P ERII British Cavalry Officer's Wilkinson
Sword, Sold |
In overall good condition, a 1912 pattern British cavalry officer's
sword, serial number 78192 for 1957, etched to Queen Elizabeth 2nd.
Possibly could be restored to parade ground condition by replating
the blade at least. We have not paid the £10 to research the
Wilkinson ledger to see if the original owner information is available
(they only charge if it is), but we will gladly pass the contact
details to the buyer if they wish to do this. The blade is the weakest,
most aged component of this sword.
The 34 3/4 inch blade is overall good condition but with patina
spots / patches; not pitted, so could be cleaned and replated. Blade
firm in the hilt. The bowl guard generally good on the exterior,
light rusting to the inside of the bowl. Grip in good condition.
Leather scabbard good though with some marks and age. The sword
sheathes and draws well. ERII cavalry Wilkinson swords are scarce.
A good example with original owner research possible; yours for
£xxx. Please quote item reference L21 (1208). Further / full
sized images available upon request.
