In good condition, an 1827 pattern Victorian Rifle Volunteer Regiment
officer's sword.
A good clean example of a rifle volunteer regiment officer's sword
with nice stepped pommel making it more distinctive than most.
The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good condition and the etching
still crisp and clear. The blade is firm in the hilt. The hilt with
some aging / flaking / loss of plating, but still in good condition.
The fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings are very good,
some slight movement in a couple of the lesser wire strands, nothing
much. The scabbard with a couple of small dings, but overall very
good. The sword sheathes and draws very well.
