The 34 1/2 inch blade, proofed by Wilkinson in 1895, is in very good condition, some light rust pitting towards the point, various acceptance marks show the sword was tested several times. The hilt and scabbard have the same "13H 533" markings (13th Hussars, rack / sword number 533), the scabbard with a 3.96 indicating it was issued to a trooper in the 13th Hussars in March 1896. The blade is firm in the hilt, the hilt is generally very good, the grips a little aged but sound and in generally very good order, the scabbard a little dinged here and there but good, the sword sheathes and draws very well.
