1892 Patt Mark 2 English Household Cavalry
Bandsman's Sword For Sale
In very good condition, a very rare 1892P Mark 2 English Household
Cavalry Bandsman's Sword.
This is a much rarer sword than the normal Household Cavalry trooper's
sword. The same size hilt but with a smaller / slimmer plain standard
cavalry blade. This one with date stamps to the inside of the hilt
for April 1901, January 1908, and February 1909; this sword would
have been at the coronation and then funeral processions for King
Edward 7th, plus the coronation procession for King George 5th.
The 32 inch plain blade is in very good condition and firm in the
hilt. The hilt very good, a small plating loss patch and some light
speckling on the inside. The fishskin grip and twisted grip wire
bindings are great. The scabbard with a dappled patina effect but
very good and sound. The sword sheaths and draws well.
This is a Household Cavalry sword pattern that rarely comes available
on the market. So, if you collect Household Cavalry swords, you
almost certainly do not have one already and therefore should snap
it up before the next collector does. A good buy at £600.
