1827P Victorian British Cambridge University Rifles Officer's Sword (sold)

In very good condition, a rare if not unique Victorian British Cambridge University Rifles officer's sword and scabbard.

1827 Pattern Victorian British Cambridge University Rifles Officer's Swordimage B92 1

Sold Item Notice

I do not suspect many of these swords were made (etched to the Cambridge University Rifles), so this is one of the rarest swords you can buy! A Victorian Rifle Regiment / Volunteers officer's sword, but marked to the prestigious university at Cambridge, who have a long tradition of rifle shooting.

The 32 blade is well etched and in very good condition, and still firm in the hilt, marked to make Parfitt of London and Cambridge, with the Victorian cypher one side and "Cambridge University Rifles" the other. The hilt has some signs of aging, but not much, and is generally very good. The fishskin grip has a little wear but again, is generally very good with the twisted grip wire bindings all present and correct. The steel scabbard has some signs of light pitting here and there, but is bright and in good condition for its age. The sword sheathes and draws very well. A very good investment. Further / large images available upon request. Our item reference number B92 - (601).
