Marked to W K & C (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie / Company), with "Eisenhauer Garantirt" (Iron cutting guaranteed) to the blade groves, these M1911 Imperial Saxony Infantry Officer's Swords are one of the scarcest of German World War One edged weapons.

The 31 Inch blade is in very good condition, a really tiny (hardly noticeable) amount of play in the hilt. The dual folding section guard in good order (the larger flap a little loose as is normal). The faux fishskin grip is overall good (tiny patch loss), the twisted grip wire bindings good, but a couple of lesser strands astray. The blackened steel scabbard overall good. The sword sheathes and draws well.

Nice!. Yours for £450. Please quote item reference AB63. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 0117-1m (1.791)
