Sold Item Notice

Wilkinson made, this Mk 3 Scottish regiment piper's dirk was originally issued by the War Department in WW1. It was then handed down to a piper of the Argyll and Sutherland Regiment who became a piper during the reign of Queen Elizabeth 2nd. He had the blade replated, the original "Teddie's Hat" replaced with the ERII St Edward's Crown, and an Argyll and Sutherland badge added to the sheath.

The rear of the upper scabbard mount is marked "QM 12" which I believe means the 12th Quarter-Master from WW1. The 30 cm blade is in very good replated order; you can still see the Wilkinson name one side and MOD acceptance mark the other. Further pictures available upon request. Item reference number 606 (236).
