M1873 Imperial German Pipe Back Artillery Officer's Sabre (sold)

Scarce pipe back version of the M1873 German artillery officer's sabre with frog suspension scabbard.

An attractive German artillery officer's sword with original owner's initials "L. G." to the langet and scabbard. 81 cm blade in overall good condition and firm in the hilt. The fishskin of the grip good, some twisted wire grip bindings are missing. Sheathes well into leather and gilt metal scabbard, with rarer frog suspension "button".
